Javier Assad has been on a nice roll for the Chicago Cubs.

Assad has been nothing if not steady; the last time he surrendered more than three runs in a start was way back on June 26 (a run of 10 straight starts), and he’s gotten better each month since, taking a tough luck loss in his only start this month. Impressively, he’s never had a losing record, and with 2.5 WAR accumulated already, he’s easily posting his finest season from a value perspective. Assad is poised on the mound and really knows how to sequence his arsenal well. There’s upside here heading into 2025, especially if he can sharpen his command.

Xavier Worthy has a chance to be Fantasy relevant right away for the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL Today: Chiefs and Ravens Renew Rivalry

Expect Worthy to chalk up at least 45 yards in his first game, making him a mid-range WR3/high-end WR4 for the week. He’s not a future star, but should be an average starter at the very least, thanks to elite athleticism that saw him run a 4.21 40-yard dash to set a record at the Combine. That speed should make Worthy a deep ball threat right from the outset, so we’re curious to see how the Chiefs try to take advantage of this weapon.

Tyreek Hill has been so good since being traded to the Miami Dolphins.

Still, it could be a sluggish start for Hill as he was dealing with a thumb woe that has caused him to miss practice the past couple of weeks and had him listed as questionable for the season opener (which is against Jacksonville, who boasts a very strong pass D). He returned to practice on Monday and laid to rest any doubts he’d play in the opener, so it sounds like his absence last week was more precautionary than anything else.
