A Conversation with Sidney Crosby
Let’s hope Sidney Crosby’s words help a young boy recover and that the star gets well too.
The final WIND Best Conversation Ever winner has now talked to the person of his wishes when St. Catharines youngster Matthew Mancini got to chat with hockey superstar Sidney Crosby recently.
The winner was actually Katie MacDonald, but she kindly gave her conversation to her friend, Mancini. Matthew was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and faces a long recovery, and Katie entered hoping 2010 Olympic hero Crosby could inspire the boy the way that he inspires her. As with the other winners, we were able to ask Matthew a few questions about his talk:
RR: What surprised you most about Sidney?
MM: He spent a long time talking to me! He was so nice!
RR: How did Sidney inspire you?
MM: He told me to keep being positive and soon I would feel better!
RR: What did Sidney tell you about his own recovery?
MM: He told me he was feeling better and getting better everyday!
RR: Who is your favourite NHL team and why?
MM: Pittsburgh Penguins because Sidney plays on that team!
RR: Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup next season and why?
MM: Pittsburgh because Sidney will come back healthy and lead through the playoffs.
