With the MLB regular season over, the Dose is dead for now. But not to worry, fans (all three of you): today marks the debut of my newest baseball column, Offseason Lowdown, which will appear every Thursday on RotoWorld, USA Today and possibly Fox Sports (depending how much attention it plans to pay on baseball now that football is in full swing).

This week, I took a look at the state of the Texas Rangers in the wake of Buck Showalter’s firing. Texas will pay Buck $6 million to go away.

Also, check out the column for a host of fantasy notes including how lucky Tony La Russa got when the Cards backed in to the playoffs after Anthony Reyes got hammered on Sunday. Read all about it in this week’s Offseason Lowdown.
