Braves’ Fantasy Report, Part II

August 31, 2006 | By RotoRob | comment on this post

Mac Thomason, of Braves Journal, added this gem to his Braves’ Fantasy Report, filed yesterday:

In case nobody has noticed, Adam LaRoche is suddenly a force, both in the real world and in fantasy. He’s now cracked the top 20 in baseball, and third among NL first basemen, in OPS (928) and has 27 HR. Unfortunately, his RBI opportunities are limited because he usually hits seventh, behind Jeff Francoeur, who has an OBP around .285. Manager Bobby Cox doesn’t like to hit lefties back to back, and Brian McCann hits fifth most of the time, but eventually you figure LaRoche will move up.

Since the break, LaRoche is hitting .368/.439/.797, best in the NL.

Mac Thomason runs Braves Journal, an Atlanta Braves’ blog. Visit www.bravesbeat.com/bravesjournal for complete coverage of the Braves.
