Fantasy Notes: Schilling’s Being a bit too Generous

August 18, 2006 | By RotoRob | comment on this post
  • Anyone else a bit concerned by the amount of hits Curt Schilling is giving up lately? You’ve got to go back to July 15 to find his last start of less than a hit per inning. In six starts since then, he’s surrendered 55 hits in 39.1 IP, and that’s just not making me, or any of his other owners, very happy. Curt, you’re damaging my WHIP, man! Still, through it all, he’s second in the AL with 14 wins, so I won’t be crying myself to sleep too much. But I am dying to see how he steps up Sunday against the Yankees.
  • The Cubs are going nowhere, right? Well, isn’t it about time to start giving Matt Murton some serious time to see how he fits into their plans in 2007? All this 24-year-old outfielder has done is bat .360 in July and .375 so far this month. Hello? Play the kid everyday for freakin’ sake!
