Keeshawn Kellman will try to power the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles into the ASUN quarters.

College Hoops Today: Conference Tourney Time

The Eagles head into the tourney hot, having won three straight to manage a .500 record within the conference. Since winning 22 games in 2021-22, they’ve regressed and struggled through their worst record this season since 2019-20. It’s been seven years since FGC made March Madness, and it looks like it will take a miracle to end that drought this season.

Ziaire Williams has been getting more burn for the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Wire Troll: Ziaire Williams Getting Plenty of PT

Now that Murray (ankle) is potentially out again, it’s time to jump all over Jackson for however long he’s starting. Jackson wasn’t great on Thursday, limited by foul trouble, but he did sink slightly more buckets last month. Murray’s ankle woe doesn’t sound super serious, so Jackson may just be a short-term add, but the Nuggets plan to be cautious here given Murray’s history with ankle injuries.

Tre Mann has been set free by the Charlotte Hornets.

The Wire Troll: Tre Mann Now Starting for Hornets

Portland’s second round pick in 2022, Walker is starting to see more PT over the last couple of months and showing his potential (last week recording a double-double with two blocks and a steal). His touches are up the last few weeks, and he’s already nearly matched the number of appearances he had in his entire rookie campaign last season. Yes, Walker endured a couple of injuries this season, but they were both minor and he’s proving to be an asset worth considering in deeper formats.

Cam Whitmore has been flashing his potential for the Houston Rockets.

The Wire Troll: Cam Whitmore Coming of Age in Houston

Unfortunately, Dosunmu never really topped his October performance despite seeing some substantial PT. All told, it was a decent sophomore effort as he saw more action and improved his work at the line, but failed to sink as many hoops. This season, he’s been improving each month to the point that he’s playing at a top 45 level in the last week and has rhymed off nine straight double-digit scoring efforts with solid secondary numbers. Dosunmu’s bucket count is rising, he’s shooting brilliantly and is becoming a more efficient player. Better yet, he’s recently taken over as the starting PG, and we see no reason that won’t continue for the foreseeable future.

Jordan King has the Richmond Spiders on a major roll.

College Hoops Today: Jordan King Providing Bite for Spiders

In bouncing back from last year’s debacle (15-18), the Spiders are seeking their second NCAA tourney appearance in three years in what’s shaping up as the school’s best effort since winning 24 games in 2019-20. Richmond is even starting to garner top 25 votes, so it’s not inconceivable they could sneak into the rankings before season’s end.
