Jordan Hawkins is having a great rookie season for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Wire Troll: Duncan Robinson Moves Up in Miami

Despite being used exclusively off the bench so far, Robinson is off to a fine start and will likely see even more responsibility now in the wake of Herro’s injury. When Herro got hurt Wednesday, it was Robinson that subbed in for him, so that was certainly a promising sign and one that makes the most sense given Robinson’s ability to space the floor with his three-point touch like Herro does. Robinson has been a bit inconsistent lately (which isn’t uncommon for him), but if he keeps getting 35 minutes like he did on Wednesday, he’ll provide some major value. His touches are up this season and he’s returned to being a nice source of three-pointers thanks to being a bigger part of the rotation. When Robinson is on, he’s an extremely dangerous shooter, so jump on him while he gets a boost in value for a couple of weeks.

Erik_Haula is off to a great start for the New Jersey Devils.

The Wire Troll: Erik Haula Can Help You

He’s clearly too good for that league (over a point per game last season, and three goals with an assist in three games this season), so let’s see what he can do in an extended look. Chinakhov had a decent rookie effort in 2021-22, and while he was scoring at a better pace last season, injuries limited him to 30 games. The team’s 2020 first round pick (21st overall) has proven to be an asset on the power play in the past, so keep an eye on how he’s deployed. There’s major potential here.

Cam Thomas has been racking up the points for the Brooklyn Nets.

The Wire Troll: Cam Thomas Breaking Out in Brooklyn

Atlanta’s 2021 first round pick has gotten progressively better each season, but after firing home a career-best 21 points in the season opener and just missing a double-double on Friday, he looks like he’s ready for prime time now even though he’s still coming off the bench. Johnson got into way more games last season while hoisting up more treys, and if he can keep sinking buckets like he did in the first game, you’ll be thrilled to have nabbed him while you had a chance.

Leo Carlsson wasted no time showing what he can do for the Anaheim Ducks.

The Wire Troll: Leo Carlsson Lights the Lamp

What intrigues us now is that it seems Cotter is moving up the Golden Knight depth chart and seeing top six type PT (over 13 minutes in each of the last two, including a season-high 15 on Thursday). He clearly has value in deep formats for the hits; but there could very well be offensive upside, so consider him a sleeper — especially if he continues to get that much TOI.

Marc-Andre Fleury is still a valuable goalie for the Minnesota Wild.

The Wire Troll: Buy Low On Marc-Andre Fleury?

Talk about a triumphant return from last season’s shoulder surgery for Bean! For Werenski, who also had a season-ending shoulder injury in ’22-23… not so much… he’s expected to miss around two weeks with a quad injury. With five assists through the first 14 games, Bean seemed headed for a career-best before getting hurt last season, but he’s already matched his goal total and is sure to see much more PT this season, especially early on. It’s just one game, but he looks vastly improved, and is poised for a bigger role.
