PlayStation 4
Hey, nice marmot!

Here at RotoRob.com, our generosity of spirit sits at near legendary proportions thanks to the innumerable giveaways and contests we’ve run over the years. This time, however, we’re simply serving as the messengers for anyone looking to pre-order a PlayStation 4 before it hits this fall. While a lot of places have blown through their launch edition allotment, the folks at WalMart’s GameCenter have your back with systems and bundles.

To check out what they’ve got on offer simply go here.

And, if you need more convincing, feel free to check out the GameCenter video.

Product Review: Skullcandy PLYR 2 Wireless Headphones

December 22, 2012 | by HC Green | Comments Comments Off on Product Review: Skullcandy PLYR 2 Wireless Headphones
Being able to use the headphones in conjunction with multiple systems comes at a cost in that it’s not as slick or visually undetectable as you might like. The transmitter needs to be plugged in to both your console of choice and the back of your TV, and it only offers a red/white connection. I, like most modern gamers, hook up my systems via HDMI, so to get these to work you’ll need to run a second cable from your console into your television. There isn’t much slack with the cord length coming from the central transmitter, either, which creates a messy look (a third cable is used for charging the headphones).

Review: MLB.TV Premium App

April 21, 2012 | by HC Green | Comments (2)
With Time Warner charging US$199 (US$179 for “early bird”) this year and DirecTV at US$224, MLB.TV Premium represents a significant value. This is especially true when you factor in the cost of renting a DVR or TiVo service, since MLB.TV automatically records each game.

Product Review: NHL GameCenter App (PS3)

October 22, 2011 | by Mike Chen | Comments (3)
Let’s get to the biggest attraction in GameCenter — live streaming of every NHL game, in many cases with both home and away feeds. If you’ve used GameCenter on a web browser, you know the interface can be a little clunky at times. Fortunately, the PS3 version is actually fairly streamlined. After loading the app, you get a catalog selection of each of the day’s games, along with viewing options. You can view the home feed, away feed, a condensed version of the game (usually edited down to 10-to-15 minutes), or a highlight package. If you’re joining in during the game, you have the option to watch the game live or start from the beginning, and if it’s after the fact, all of the aforementioned viewing options are available. Note that the highlights and condensed versions do take some time to be made available.

On the one hand, it’s the ultimate season for sports lovers – we’re getting down to the nitty gritty in both the NHL and NBA playoffs, baseball is just getting interesting and football, err… well, never mind about that sport right now.
