The 14th-ranked prospect in the D-Back system as per MLB, Fletcher is very small for an outfielder, but has an extremely good arm and is a strong fielder. While his offensive potential isn’t nearly as promising, it’s hard to argue with what he’s shown so far this season. Even if Fletcher’s ultimate ceiling is just a fourth outfielder in the bigs, he’s worth a short-term addition right now.

Consider that he’s tossed seven scoreless outings in his last nine tries, including no earned runs allowed through five June appearances. Patino still has a long way to go, but at the age of 23, is still someone worth tracking to see if he can return to the Rays in the second half as a potential multi-inning weapon.

Moreta had another strong outing on Friday (1 2/3 shutout frames), giving him eight scoreless games in his last nine tries. He’s already closing in on a career high in games pitched and has a nice record; other than a regression in his control, we’re really bullish on his upside.

A former two-way player, Lorenzen covered a lot of ground in the outfield because of his speed, but given his 93-97 mph easy heat, he was wisely moved into a full-time pitching role.

Jones has hit safely in six straight games that he’s started, and has been productive enough to be worth a look in some mixed leagues. He was easily a top 150 outfielder heading into the season, and will soon also qualify at 1B (if he hasn’t already depending on your format).

He was even better in 2020, but it’s been a struggle since, and he missed nearly a year with a shoulder injury until making his season debut on Thursday. Okay, so it was a rough start for the long-time Cub, but it was only natural for there to be plenty of rust. However, once Hendricks’ usually steady command returns, he’s going to pay dividends, so grab him now.
