Welcome back to another week of Fantasy basketball action.

This week, D’Angelo Russell secretly recorded and leaked a video of teammate Nick Young’s cheating confession on his wife, pop star Iggy Azalea (rookie mistake?); Kyrie Irving’s girlfriend, R&B star Kehlani, was also exposed for alleged disloyalty, with a picture of her hand in hand with ex-boyfriend rapper PartyNextDoor; and a stealthy Boston Celtics squad ended the Golden State Warriors’ notorious 54-game home winning streak.

It’s been a scandalous week in the NBA, and although we don’t provide relationship advice, we can advise waiver wire picks that might help you clinch playoff success…

Norman Powell, SG, Toronto Raptors (ESPN: 5.1 per cent; CBS: 5 per cent): Powell has been a consistency force to be reckoned with lately, scoring 10 or more points while pocketing the occasional steal in each of the last six contests. He seems to have the edge over teammate Terrence Ross for the starting small forward gig (he’ll likely soon qualify there in most formats), and will continue to see extended minutes in the absence of Demarre Carroll. Powell is scoring at a career high level this season while shooting well beyond the arc. Oh, he’s also shown an ability to take it to the hoop — hard.

Seth Curry, SG, Sacramento Kings (ESPN: 3.3 per cent; CBS: 3 per cent): With double-digit points in four of his last five contests, Curry is taking clear advantage of his opportunity to start in Sacramento. His best effort came in a loss to the Heat Friday as he managed 21 points, three assists, two rebounds and a steal. It will be interesting to see what else Curry does while the Kings are shorthanded, as he may just add to the legacy of the “Curry” name in due time.

Thomas Robinson, PF, Brooklyn Nets (ESPN: 4.3 per cent; CBS: 5 per cent): Robinson has been a double-double beast with points and boards over the last three games. It should play out that the rest of the Nets’ missed playoff season is like a tryout for next season, with vets being rested and players like Robinson getting a chance to flash potential. Give the 25-year-old a look for a quick boost in points and rebounds. Besides, how often do you hear of a power forward picking up five steals in a game (as Robinson did on Friday)?

Nene Hilario, PF/C, Washington Wizards (ESPN: 5.3 per cent; CBS: 11 per cent): Nene has been trying to revitalize himself on and off the Wizards bench, scoring 10 or more in the last four of his last five. He may not be as effective on the glass as he used to be, but his scoring efforts do give him some Fantasy upside playing as the backup big.

Kosta Koufos, Sacramento Kings (ESPN: 6.1 per cent; CBS: 15 per cent): Koufos registered a solid stat line in a loss to the Heat Friday with 12 points, nine boards, two blocks and a pair of assists. Though his starting opportunities in the occasional absence of DeMarcus Cousins alternates with Willie Cauley-Stein, Koufos has been putting up the more productive outings lately. With consistency, it may just result in Koufos getting a bigger role for the Kings frontcourt (fingers crossed), in the event that you pick him up as a deep league reserve.

Alexis Ajinca, New Orleans Pelicans (ESPN: 5.5 per cent, CBS: 6 per cent): On an injury-plagued Pelicans’ roster, you’ll never know when they might look to Ajinca to step it up. Though he does battle the likes of Omer Asik and Kendrick Perkins for minutes and showcasing opportunity off and on the bench, Ajinca is doing what’s expected of a centre — getting boards and putting it back in.
