2013 Arizona Fall League Gallery Four

December 26, 2013 | by RotoRob | Comments Comments Off on 2013 Arizona Fall League Gallery Four

In November, Tim McLeod visited the Arizona Fall League, and while a full scouting report won’t be coming this year, he took some photographs — tons of them in fact. Today, we offer up our final gallery.

Albert Almora is an impact outfield prospect for the Chicago Cubs.

Albert Almora, seen here advancing to second, isn’t the greatest basestealer and he continued to prove that at the AFL.

Byron Buxton is going to be a hard worker for the Minnesota Twins.

Byron Buxton, seen here with Angels prospect C.J. Cron, flashed some decent extra-base power in the AFL.

Byron Buxton’s walk rate wasn’t as good as usual in the AFL.

Byron Buxton is now the best prospect in baseball for the Minnesota Twins.

Byron Buxton, see here after reaching first base, struck out way too often at the AFL.

Drew Hutchison

Drew Hutchison got the better of Henry Urrutia here. In five starts at Triple-A this year, Hutchinson failed to earn a win.

Jorge Soler saw plenty of action for the Chicago Cubs in the AFL.

Chicago Cubs’ outfield prospect Jorge Soler, seen here at first base with game MVP Brett Nicholas, got into 20 games at the AFL, but was not overly impressive.

Sammy Solis is 25 for the Washington Nationals.

Sammy Solis, who has a unique arm action, has never thrown a complete game as a professional.

Stefen Romero spent some time in High-A this year for the Seattle Mariners.

Stefen Romero, seen here rounding third after a three-run homer, averaged a hit per game during his brief time in High-A this season.

Stefen Romero didn't flash much extra-base power in High-A for the Seattle Mariners.

Stefen Romero, seen here receiving congratulations after his three-run homer, failed to employ his running game at High-A this year.

The Wire Troll: More Dynasty Droppings

December 24, 2013 | by Josh Johnson | Comments (0)
Yeah, remember Locker? He has out been since Week 10 following foot surgery. What was lost this season is that Locker was really showing improvement. His QB rating was up 12 points from a year ago and he was showing mobility with 6.5 yard average carry and two rushing TDs. Not many QBs enjoy early success and Locker has had to earn his due. However with durability being an issue from him we feel like he still has a lot to prove. He is a great Dynasty add at this point largely because we feel like he will get no love this offseason or this summer in Fantasy drafts. That’s okay, because come Week Four of the 2014 season, some owners will be searching for a QB and Locker — who will have strung three dynamic starts together for your team — will not be available.

Video Game Review: China Rising DLC

December 23, 2013 | by Jeff Cater | Comments Comments Off on Video Game Review: China Rising DLC
This map is set in a baking canvas in the middle of the desert. The smooth sand dunes creating splashes of light as you run by make it easy to see why the place is called The Silk Road. Although this map is wide and open, marksmen and tank drivers may find it difficult to do their job effectively because the heat is constantly distorting images in the distance, making even the most eagle-eyed crew wary of any unchecked advance. Air support is crucial in this map in order for infantry not to be completely decimated by armour, so the skies fill up nicely overhead. Along with the usual armoured transports and tanks, we also have the dirt bike coming back to us finally, which definitely makes CTF games a bit easier on the legs.

Video Game Review: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

December 22, 2013 | by HC Green | Comments Comments Off on Video Game Review: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
On the bright side, naval combat feels much improved. You have three different speeds at which to navigate the ship, and your full complement of weaponry is used contextually based on how you position the camera. For example, looking straight ahead allows use of mortars or a chain shot. Tilt until you’ve got a starboard or port view, however, and you’ll be firing cannons; look behind and you’ll drop explosive barrels into the water. Disabled vessels can be boarded if you come up alongside them, and outside of some trouble gauging distance between ships, it worked well.
