And while the kid seemed at least part of the rotation in the first two weeks of the season, he hadn’t played at all over for over two weeks, so last week Oklahoma City wisely sent him down to the D-League. So far, so good for Aldrich as he’s averaged nine points, six boards and one block in his first two games for the Tulsa 66ers.

Why is this? The goal this season is to really dig deep into the belly of the beast that is the waiver wire. Normal pick ups will not garner attention in this realm. There emphasis here is on heading into almost the nether regions of existence where the real diamonds in the rough lie.

The backgrounds and environments are standard, not spectacular, especially considering how detailed we’ve seen games in the past year or two. Enemies are generic, details such as snow and weather flicker on and off, and even cut scenes have glitches where environment texture details load seconds after they come on screen.

Thome is one of those “more valuable in real life than Fantasy” types, especially since he limits your team’s flexibility by not qualifying anywhere defensively. He’s a free agent this offseason, and should come cheaply for any team that needs a power bat off the bench or the left-handed portion of a DH platoon (which seems like a major waste of a roster spot). I sure hope he lands a gig, as Thome is just 11 homers shy of becoming the eighth players to reach 600 for his career, and he’s one of the few on the list that has not (as of yet) been implicated in some kind of PED scandal.
