Something’s Fishy

October 22, 2007 | By RotoRob | comment on this post

As if things weren’t bad enough for the 0-7 Miami Dolphins, now they have lost running back Ronnie Brown for the remainder of the season.

Brown, in the midst of an All Pro-type season, tore his cruciate ligament in Sunday’s loss to the Pats, an injury that will require surgery in the next week or so.

What a devastating loss for a Miami team that can ill afford any more bad news. Brown was enjoying a major breakout year, leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage. Now, his duties will fall to a running back by committee situation with Jesse Chatman, Patrick Cobbs and Lorenzo Booker trying to pick up the slack. Uh, good luck with that.

In further crappy Dolphin news, cornerback Renaldo Hill suffered the same, season-ending injury in yesterday’s game. Miami’s middling pass defense will likely slide further now, making opposing quarterbacks and receivers facing the Fish a more attractive play.

It’s looking like Miami is headed for the No. 1 overall pick next spring, a fact made even more clear when the Fish dealt Chris Chambers to the Chargers for a second round pick.
